Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. When she was a kid she attended the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was only six when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. By the age of ten she had performed and taken the lead in various Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie adaptation to J.K. Emma's first screen appearance took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in the year 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 The film broke records for its debut day opening and opening weekend takings. The film was praised by critics and the performance of three young stars. The widely distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma received five nominations for her exceptional performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of a Film.
